Our first prediction for the upcoming UFC 115 event is the Chuck ‘The Iceman’ Liddell versus Rich ‘Ace’ Franklin main event.

Chuck Liddell
‘The Iceman’ has long been a feared contendor in the octagon with his incredible standup as well as his incredible takedown defense. His counter punching is legendary and has more knockouts than many UFC fighters have fights. He will fight to the end and never quit.

Rich Franklin
‘Ace’ is also a UFC veteran and has a ton of heart, a quick jab, and unerringly accurate punching. He has a solid ground game and great takedown defense as well. He is diverse in his striking and brings a lot of angles to the fight.

Prediction: This fight WILL go the distance. Franklin will avoid the heavy blows of Liddell (although he will get tagged a couple times) and, in typical Franklin-style, he will land more blows (including kicks). This will be a unanimous decision by the judges and not a disputed one by the fans.

Our third pick is for the Travis Lutter versus Rich Franklin fight and, once again, looks to be a ‘sure thing’. Here is our analysis:

Travis Lutter is a ground game fighter and a Jui-Jitsu specialist. His game is fairly ‘one-trick’, but he is certainly lethal once he gets his opponent on the ground. He is not a fighter to be underestimated even when outclassed.

Rich Franklin is one of the most well-rounded fighters in the division, has excellent striking ability, excellent defense, and incredibly sound physical conditioning.

FIGHT ANALYSIS: Travis Lutter has one chance to pull this fight home, his ground game. He will try and try and try again to get Rich Franklin on the ground for a submission. But Rich has been around for awhile and has seen a lot of fighters much better than Lutter try to take him down. This fight is simple…. FRANKLIN BY TKO.
