Fight Analysis: Leben edges this one out by a large margin with a ton of experience and a ton of heart. Leben has a solid chin and a crazy, fearless approach to standup. Simpson has not yet fought anyone like Leben, who refuses to be knocked out. Look for this fight to be a crazy battle in the 1st round. As the fight progresses, Simpson will get tired and, if he stays standing (which I believe he will), he will lose.

Fight Analysis: If this fight stays standing, it will be an easy victory for Spencer Fisher.  His standup game is much more crisp than Siver’s and he has fought a ton of highly skilled fighters.  He is, technically, the better stand up fighter.  The ground game is Siver’s only chance in victory (IMO), but Spencer has a very effective ground defense and good submissions.

Prediction: Spencer Fisher by Decision.

Our second prediction is (I believe) the ‘co-main event’. Although I hate that categorization, I do like this matchup.

Mirko Cro Cop
Mirko Cro Cop is a Croatian fighter who had a storied career in Pride. Since is foray into the UFC, his prowess has declined and he has left his trademark high kicks and favors punching. He is slower and has not looked great since starting in the UFC, but still has fearsome standup skills.

Pat Barry
Pat Barry has incredible leg kicks (many say the strongest in the division and maybe the UFC). He has a great stand up game.

Prediction: This fight , without a doubt, will be a stand up match. Look for Mirko to start slow, but finish this fight in the second round by TKO.

Our first prediction for the upcoming UFC 115 event is the Chuck ‘The Iceman’ Liddell versus Rich ‘Ace’ Franklin main event.

Chuck Liddell
‘The Iceman’ has long been a feared contendor in the octagon with his incredible standup as well as his incredible takedown defense. His counter punching is legendary and has more knockouts than many UFC fighters have fights. He will fight to the end and never quit.

Rich Franklin
‘Ace’ is also a UFC veteran and has a ton of heart, a quick jab, and unerringly accurate punching. He has a solid ground game and great takedown defense as well. He is diverse in his striking and brings a lot of angles to the fight.

Prediction: This fight WILL go the distance. Franklin will avoid the heavy blows of Liddell (although he will get tagged a couple times) and, in typical Franklin-style, he will land more blows (including kicks). This will be a unanimous decision by the judges and not a disputed one by the fans.

This fight, IMO, is epic… that’s why I finally decided to update our picks and website I love both of these fighters (Jackson and Evans) and this battle is going to finally show us who can back up their mouth. I can’t wait!

FIGHT ANALYSIS: I think that Rashad will come out early to ‘feel out’ Rampage. It will turn, mid-round, into a few landed punches (Rashad is quick). However – Rampage will finally find what he is looking for just like he did against Wanderlei and knock Rashad off his feet. It will end with TKO stoppage on the ground. Jackson BY TKO

Lyoto Machida is another dominant force in the UFC these days and appears nearly invincible with his recent wins. Mauricio Rua is a former Pride champion with incredible skills and excellent agression. This fight will certainly be one to remember and will show fans who the dominant fighter is after plenty of debate.

FIGHT ANALYSIS: We believe that Rua will come out with fierce agression, but this is nothing that Machida hasn’t seen before. Machida will definitely take a few shots, but will keep Rua on his toes and tire him out. This fight will end in a TKO because Machida has the better cardio and skills. He will not make the mistake of underestimating Rua as his mental ability matches his physical skills. Machida will finally TKO Rua. Machida BY TKO

Cain Velasquez has been an up and comer for awhile now. We have all watched him pound fighters mercilessly on his road to this point. Ben Rothwell is a longtime fighter with more experience in the ring than most. He can be vicious and has a formidable ground game.

FIGHT ANALYSIS: We believe that this victory belongs to Velasquez. While Ben has a ton of experience behind him, he does not have the speed and dexterity to keep up with Cain. Cain will not dominate Rothwell initially, but will easily wear him out in quick fashion. I see a lot of ground work here with the end result of Cain Velasquez pounding Ben Rothwell into submission on the ground. VELASQUEZ BY TKO

The next UFC Event – Silva VS Irvin will be playing on Spike TV. In Canada, this is playing on Rogers Sportsnet and in the UK on Setanta Sports.

There are several decent bouts here including the main event, Anderson Silva against James Irvin. Other fights see Brandon Vera and Frankie Edgar back in the ring against opponents Reese Andy and Hermes Franca, respectively.

Also fighting are Spike TV’s ultimate fighter series finalises Jesse Taylor and CB Dollaway, which were the favorites most of the way through the reality series.

Look for some good fights on the free event!

Our third pick for UFC 86 is Stevenson VS Tibau and will likely be a very technical ground game. This was our toughest pick even though many give Stevenson the automatic win on this one..

Joe Stevenson is masterful on the ground and has adequate standup. Gleison Tibau is a large fighter with good standup and excellent BJJ and ground game.

FIGHT ANALYSIS: We believe that Tibau will try to keep Stevenson at bay with his reach advantage while finding a way to get the takedown. However, Stevenson will rush Tibau and get the first takedown in this one. Stevenson is a powerful fighter and, we believe, will be on top most of the fight. This fight will go all the way with no submissions and the victor will be the one who punnishes the other more on the ground. STEVENSON BY DECISION
