Fight Analysis: This is an interesting matchup. Stevenson is definitely the more well-rounded fighter here, but Danzig is no slouch either. In the past I would have said that Stevenson’s striking is little to worry about. However – his more recent fights have proven that his skills standing have become much more crisp. Danzig is still the better striker, but on the ground Stevenson should be able to control this fight fairly easily. I see Mac doing well in the first round and even, possibly winning the round. However, I see round 2 and 3 going the way of Stevenson and with a fairly worn out Danzig, Stevenson will choke him out in the 3rd.

Fight Analysis: These are two talented, talented fighters here and (IMO) may be one of the most exciting fights of the night. Miller is a beast with a ton of talent, excellent submissions and takedowns along with some decent (not great, though) striking. Oliveira is quick, has much better striking, and good ground skills… Miller has much better wrestling and does well pushing his opponents into the cage. But for this fight, I’m going to take the reach and quickness of Oliveira and go on record to say he will be the first to TKO Miller.

Fight Analysis: Now these are some big dudes…. at 6’11″ and 6’7″, respectively, they are quite the matchup. McCorkle will need to get his hands around Struve to win this fight and even then, Struve has good submissions. While the striking of McCorkle is a bit crisper, Struve has quite the reach advantage. I see this fight in a very simple manner… Struve’s reach is going to keep McCorkle on the outside looking in. Struve will keep peppering Sean with strikes and catch the decision victory.

UFC 124- GSP vs. Koscheck
We have some good analysis coming for this set of fights. Looks to be a decent card for once and the possibility of upsets are likely! Get ready folks!

Fight Analysis: This is a fairly one dimensional fighter against a crazy-unorthodox fighting style. Rampage Jackson has heavy hands and that is about all he has used in his last fights… he has excellent wrestling ability (as noted by his nickname ‘slampage’), but rarely uses that anymore. Machida has an in and out style which makes him very difficult to land punches on. Shogun was the only one to really lay hard hands on Machida and there is a reason for that – he is elusive. In this fight, Machida will simply elude Rampage, frustrate Rampage, and beat Rampage by sheer activity.

Fight Analysis: Is this the rematch of the century? Probably not This is an aging Matt Hughes, who hasn’t looked particularly effective, against BJ Penn who is still looking like a quality fighter. BJ Penn has way more skills than Hughes and his takedown defense is probably the best in the UFC due to his incredible flexibility. The only type of fighter that can take BJ Penn out is a more active one, such as Edgar. I see this fight ending with a TKO by Penn. Why? Penn’s standup is superb and Hughes will NOT take him down.

Fight Analysis: Phil Davis is mad-talented. He is going to rush Boetsch from the start, but that should be easy for Boetsch to fend off (in the first round). After that, Davis will slowly overcome Boetsch until he finally gets what he is looking for.

Fight Analysis: This has the potential to be fight of the night, IMO. Lauzon is a tough fighter and Sotiropolous is tireless and very well-rounded. I think it will take a bit for Soti to find the holes in Lauzon’s game, but when he does it will be easy for him to begin picking Joe apart. He will be the more active of the two fighters and will squeak out a decision.

Fight Analysis: Tyson has been on a very bad losing streak and needs this fight to get him back into the game. He has good ground and pound, but lately just hasn’t been able to utilize it. Lentz, on the other hand, has been on a bit of a roll with some recent wins (although decisions). While Tyson has been matched with top fighters, Lentz has scraped the bottom of the UFC barrel to this date. Tyson will come out strong on this fight and even with Lentz good takedown defense, will press him to the cage and drop him. This fight will be anything but boring even with 2 wrestlers (for the most part). Look for Tyson to finish this fight, though, in spectacular style giving him a little more reason to continue fighting in the UFC.

UFC 123 – Jackson vs. Machida
We have both some good fights as well as many we do not care about on this card. UFC has been putting out a few too many fights with a few too many crappy matchups, so we will release our picks only for those fights we feel confident in. These will be the fights we bet on as well.
