Diego Sanchez is a tough fighter that the UFC is betting on to become the next contender for the belt. He has good standup and excellent grappling / ground and pound.
Luigi Fioravanti has good takedown defence and powerful striking. He is coming off a recent win and looking to increase his ’stock’ in the UFC.
FIGHT ANALYSIS: Stand up is the name of this game if Fioravanti is to have any chance at all in pulling out the win. While he has good takedown defense, he will need more than just that to stop the fury of Sanchez. Look for Sanchez to stay away from the heavy hands of Luigi while picking him apart with quick flurries. He will eventually rock Luigi and then take him to the ground where the battle will end. Sanchez is going to whip the ass of Fioravanti. No doubt in my mind. Sanchez may have lost a couple fights recently but he is still a tough sonofabitch that is not going to allow Luigi to beat him. Plus the UFC wants Sanchez to win anyway because that is a better draw in the future. Either way Sanchez whooooops azzzzzz.

This is a laughable fight in my opinion and Sanchez will have no problem here. The UFC is just trying to increase his stock by feeding him people he can beat. Look for several more easy fights for him until he gets someone worthy of fighting. Sanchez is a good fighter, but not the best. They are afraid he will get beat again and not be worth shit to the viewers.
