Rich Clementi is an EXCELLENT ground gamer and has shown that he has enough stand up ability to hold off a good striker until submission time during his last fight against Guillard. Rich looks better and better on each fight and I believe he is looking for this fight to solidify his increasing reputation.

Sam Stout is one of the best strikers out there with a heavy set of hands that can hang with the best of them. He has an excellent chin and is nearly impossible to knock out. His heart is as big as his hands are heavy… Sam is not a fighter that gives up.

FIGHT ANALYSIS: Sam Stout is going to do his best to keep this fight standing. That is the only place where he has the ability to end the fight. Rich is no newbie to getting hit with hard fists, though, and will bide his time until the opening is there for a quick takedown. Rich will get that takedown and end this fight in quick fashion. Our fourth pick is for the Marc Bocek versus Mac Danzig fight and this one we feel is a little more worrisome than a few of the others. This could be a long drawn out fight with Bocek on top or a quick and perfectly executed win by Danzig.

Marc Bocek is a ground-game fighter with a compliment of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and wrestling skills.  He has been training with Team Quest (Henderson’s group) and may come to this fight with a few new tricks in his bad.

Mac Danzig is a very experienced (although in different arenas than the UFC) fighter with excellent striking skills, top notch defense, and the abiliy to out-think most of his opponents.

FIGHT ANALYSIS: Marc Bocek will look to shoot in on Danzig for a takedown and work him over with wrestling and BJJ.  Mac Danzig has seen this type of fighter before and knows how to defend against it.  Mac is also a very tightly controlled fighter and will likely not allow Bocek an opening for the takedown.  Look for Danzig to keep Bocek from taking him to the ground with a series of well-timed, accurate strikes.  In the end… DANZIG BY TKO.

Our third pick is for the Travis Lutter versus Rich Franklin fight and, once again, looks to be a ‘sure thing’. Here is our analysis:

Travis Lutter is a ground game fighter and a Jui-Jitsu specialist. His game is fairly ‘one-trick’, but he is certainly lethal once he gets his opponent on the ground. He is not a fighter to be underestimated even when outclassed.

Rich Franklin is one of the most well-rounded fighters in the division, has excellent striking ability, excellent defense, and incredibly sound physical conditioning.

FIGHT ANALYSIS: Travis Lutter has one chance to pull this fight home, his ground game. He will try and try and try again to get Rich Franklin on the ground for a submission. But Rich has been around for awhile and has seen a lot of fighters much better than Lutter try to take him down. This fight is simple…. FRANKLIN BY TKO.

Our second pick should be a lot less controversial than the first (where we have picked Serra to, once again, upset GSP). This is the Charles McCarthy versus Michael Bisping fight and looks to us to be more of a ‘sure thing’ to spark the interest of the UK fans to us. Dana White really needs to cater to the UFC fans instead of setting up shitty fights like this, but….. Here is our analysis:

Charles McCarthy is from The Ultimate Fighter season 4 and really hasn’t done a whole lot. He has submission skills, but not extremely impressive skills in that arena and while his hands can be heavy, they are not top notch. IMO, he is an average fighter that really has to prove himself.

Michael Bisping is from the Ultimate Fighter season 3 and has had several fights since that point. He has fought those with great ground games and those with heavy hands. Bisping is a stand up fighter and has good ability when keeping the fight standing.

FIGHT ANALYSIS: Charles McCarthy DOES have something to prove. He must prove that he belongs in the UFC. The only way he will stay in the UFC is to beat Bisping. Bisping, however, has a much better stand up game and has fought guys with a much better ground game than McCarthy. In my opinion, there is no chance McCarthy will have the ability to take Bisping to the ground and submit him (which, in reality, is his only chance at winning this one). So…. BISPING BY TKO.

Our very first pick is in for UFC 83 Serra Vs St. Pierre 2! We have a long list of picks coming this time and we are still doing some good research and watching a bunch of past fights (as well as looking into recent training for each figher). Don’t forget to check out all the UFC 83 Betting Lines.

Matt Serra DID TKO Georges St. Pierre in their first matchup, but the questions are:

1. Did Matt Serra land a lucky punch? (or really, set of punches)
2. Is this the GSP of old or the newly re-invented GSP?

Well, if your memory doesn’t serve you well, you may want to take another look at the Serra Vs. GSP (UFC 69) fight:

Matt Serra is a heavy-handed hitter with excellent BJJ skills. Serra is an aggressive fighter and is never backpedaling during a fight, but always moving straight ahead.Georges St. Pierre is considered one of (if not THE) most athletic fighters in the UFC. He has excellent stand up skills and excellent kickboxing technique. He knows BJJ and surprisingly enough beat Matt Hughes by out wrestling him after training with the Canadian Olympic team.This is going to be a VERY interesting fight. This will NOT go to decision, of that I am confident. It will be a last man standing event here. Matt Serra is out to prove he deserved his win over GSP and GSP is out to prove it was a fluke. We KNOW that GSP has trained beyond typical standards and it seems that Serra has as well. GSP will keep this fight standing, IMO, because that was how he was beat the last time (somewhat like how he treated Hughes to his own medicine in their last fight). I don’t think this is going to work for him this time, though… This is a tough fight to call and you will be more than surprised that I am picking: SERRA BY TKO.

UFC 83 is just around the corner on April 19, 2008! There are quite a few (11) fights on this UFC 83 Fight Card.

The most exciting fight, by far is the rematch between Matt ‘The Terror’ Serra and Georges ‘Rush’ St. Pierre! Georges will be in his homeland of Canada for this fight and all signs point to him being a bit upset at Matt’s mouth. George was TKO’d out by the hard fists of Matt Serra in the last fight back in 2007, but can that happen again? Matt Serra says the fight won’t last 5 rounds…. ‘It’s either him or me’, he says.
