UFC 79 Predictions - What we are betting on
Here is our FINAL analysis after reading all the facts, listening to each fighter, and listening to all opinions. Some of our predictions have changed based upon what we feel is the more likely result after more analysis (not just raw emotion):

Wanderlei’s style will lead to his defeat. Chuck is excellent against aggressors and has a long reach which will allow him to pick apart Wanderlei and wait for the KO. While Wanderlei is the more well-rounded fighter - I do not believe he will get close enough to Chuck to prove that.
The Iceman by TKO |

Matt Hughes is looking to solidify his reputation with a win. He has a new training camp (his own) and heavyweights like Lawler and Horn who have been training with him. He is not going to let a punch or kick rock him like in the last bout. He will withstand St. Pierre’s onslaught and catch him with a slam to the floor.

While Machida is quite elusive and showed exactly how great of a fighter he is against Houston, Sokoudjou is just too powerful. The African Assassin is going to finish this fight.
Sokoudjou by TKO |

Guillard and Clementi have some BAD blood. Guillard is looking to knock out Clementi quick and early. I think this will be Melvin’s downfall. Clementi is a solid fighter and will be patient while Guillard expends his early-round energy. Clementi has a good chin and much more experience in the octagon.
Clementi by submission |

These are the fights we care about… Why? Yes, we know there are other fights on the card that will be awesome to watch. These fights, however, are what we have MONEY on
That makes them important. Since we have money riding, we have done the bulk of the research on these fighter’s fight styles and conditioning. The rest of the fights we did not research enough to put our money down on.

Interesting picks you have there. Not sure I agree with the GSP fight. I think that Matt is outclassed in this one and will lose by TKO. Liddell, I agree with you on - he is going to knock out Silva with (I think) a lucky punch. After seeing Machida work over Alexander, I think he will do the same with Soko, so I see Machida with a submission win over Sokoudjou. And, lastly, Clementi is getting his ass whooooopped.
So - I agree with you on 1 and that’s it. I guess we will find out more in 12 hours.

Chuck wins by TKO, but not in the first round. They will feel each other out for a short period of time first.
Hughes wins by Submission after repeatedly slamming Georges to the matt
Soko wins by TKO with power and quickness that Machida gets hit with, literally.
Clementi wins by submission after several rounds of holding Melvin back.

Yes, my picks are definitely interesting compared to the public ‘votes’ as noticed by the current vegas odds for the fight. Howver, we think that our research is well done and the fights will come out much like we expect.
But nothing is for sure in the UFC…. we could be 0 for 4 if lucky punches are thrown, quick submissions are had, or any other number of factors ring true.
The proof will be in the results which are about 5 hours from starting!

Sad to say…. we were only 50% accurate this time
GSP surprised us more than any other, outclassing Hughes in SUBMISSION!!! Unbelievable. I think Matt Hughes is done. He won’t come back.
Liddell, no surprise but Wanderlei put up a good fight. What was the deal with Liddell’s watching the clock???? Did the UFC tell him NOT to finish? That is my thought.
Soko - I knew that was a 50/50 to begin with as Machida can frustrate a striker (as I have said before).
As far as Clementi - exactly what I thought.
